Greater safety around courses is everyone's responsibility-- players, designers, property owners, and other park users, etc. As the sport evolves, designs have to keep evolving. With so much diversity in the types of courses offered, all stakeholders have their own role to play in creating greater safety in and around the courses.

Sustainability in disc golf is also evolving as the sport evolves and the designs evolve. Greater awareness inspires more sustainable designs and builds. One easy way sustainability can be achieved is by discussing options with property owners and asking them to include experts in the installation or building of a disc golf course should the need arise. Ultimately, it is up to the property owner what measures they want to take on their land to address the environment.
Most designers have limited knowledge of the environment and cannot be experts on the vast topics related to sustainability. Although environmental impact is generally low, usage can have an effect on compaction and erosion. Designers can let the client be aware of this and share examples of how that has been mitigated on other courses.
